Position Description

Purpose of the Position:

The purpose of this post is to provide support to UNICC’s partners in planning, organizing and conducting investigations by making digital evidence available to investigation teams, ensuring understanding of the seized digital material, while leveraging specialized tools.

Objectives of the Programme:

The objective of the Centre is to provide trusted ICT services and digital business solutions to its Clients and Partner Organizations.

Main duties and responsibilities:

The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Head of Cyber Threat Intelligence (CSOI), within the Cybersecurity Operations Section (CSO) in the Cybersecurity Division (CS), and in close collaboration with the CSO team. The incumbent could be requested to do any other tasks of similar level in related fields. The incumbent will perform the following duties:

  • Participate in the creation of operational forensic capabilities covering cyber forensic methodologies, digital forensic equipment, digital forensic networks, digital forensic support to investigations in compliance with
    international quality standards
  • Under close guidance, manage and supervise the digital forensics operations for UNICC and UNICC’s partners
  • Support the establishment and management of Digital Forensics capabilities
  • Provide training and guidance to investigators on technical and legal aspects of forensic work
  • Implement electronic discovery, computer forensic investigations, and related services for large data sets
  • Participate in meetings, training courses and conferences at international level
  • Perform any other duties in the area of competence as assigned by the line management

Recruitment Profile

Experience and Skills required:

Essential:

  • At least five (5) years of relevant Digital Forensics experience
  • Proven knowledge of digital evidence lifecycle
  • Experience with Digital Forensics capacity building for both, traditional and cyber security related investigations
  • Experience with running and investigating systems using multiple platforms, including Linux, Windows, MacOS, Android, iOS
  • Experience in training facilitation in the field of Digital Forensics

Desirable

  • Experience with the process of regular data mining and data analysis procedures using appropriate tools to assist in investigations, including regular data mining to highlight potentially fraudulent activity
  • Familiarity with methodologies regarding malware investigations
  • Knowledge of any common scripting languages (e.g. Python, Ruby, etc…)

Education*:

Essential:

  • A first level University degree in the field of Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Law, Cybersecurity or Criminal Investigations

Desirable:

  • Any of the following certifications in the field of Digital Forensics and Information Security like CISSP, GCFE, CFCE, GCIH

Languages:

  • English: Expert knowledge is required
  • Spanish: Intermediate knowledge is desirable

Other Information

Compensation:

Annual Salary Estimation (net of tax at single rate):

  • Valencia (Spain), including post adjustment (30,8% on July 2023): US$ 82,001.
