Development & Sustainability Coordinator

The Development & Sustainability Coordinator will support Institute for Family Health ( IFH) & International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) in identifying, developing, piloting, evaluating, and launching new initiatives to sustain IFH’s operations, particularly those funded by the PRM project.

Major Responsibilities:

-Based on the project’s sustainability and exit plan, develop a work plan outlining key deliverable, as agreed with IFH and IOCC.

-Become familiar with the day-to-day operations and operational environment of IFH as an organization to support sustainability planning at the organization level.

-Become familiar with the day-to-day operations and operational environment of IFH’s PRM-supported project clinics to support individualized sustainability planning for each location.

-Provide support in piloting, reviewing the implementation of, and revising (as needed) an IFH and IOCC-developed “costing model” for budgeting and providing services at PRM project clinics.

-Lead identification of initiatives to support IFH’s sustainability during Year 1 (hiring through August 2024) and present these to IFH and IOCC for endorsement. This may include but are not limited to use of crowdfunding platforms to subsidize services for the most vulnerable accessing IFH services; developing fundraising models in how to package and present IFH services and the needs of its clients to the public; building relationships with private sector actors, particularly in relation to their corporate social responsibility efforts in Jordan; plans to diversify funding sources; and development of needed materials (i.e., information products and promotional materials) to support fundraising efforts.

-Lead the piloting of sustainability initiatives identified in Year 1 throughout Year 2 (September 2024 through August 2025) under the supervision of IFH and IOCC; review initiatives and their successes, challenges, limitations, and opportunities; and develop recommendations for initiatives to be launched full-scale in Year 3.

-Lead the launch and implementation of selected sustainability initiatives during Year 3 (September 2025 to August 2026).

-As the need for policies and procedures is identified, develop internal development and fundraising policies and procedures for IFH.

-Lead capacity building of IFH staff in development and fundraising through training, mentoring, and coaching, and other methods.

-Build relationships sand partnerships with key stakeholders who could support IFH’s sustainability, such as private sector actors.

-Draft a business plan to be operationalized for income-generation opportunities for the PRM project-established ear mold lab.

-In coordination with IOCC and alongside IFH, regularly liaise with IOCC headquarters Communications Manager, IOCC headquarters development team, and other relevant staff, including sharing relevant updates and receiving guidance on IFH’s and project sustainability, development, and fundraising efforts.

-In coordination with IOCC Country Representative and IFH Executive Director, review the project’s sustainability and exit plan on a yearly basis to ensure the plan is on track and adjust as needed.

-Participate in IFH’s leadership and sustainability committee.

-Provide weekly written updates to IFH and IOCC focal points on work performed, key points and action items from meetings attended, progress made toward agreed upon deliverables, challenges and opportunities, and areas in which support is needed from IFH and IOCC.

– Carry out any other tasks and obligations assigned to you by your line manager that fit within your area of expertise

Requirements:

– Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Nonprofit Management, International Development or any related field.

– (7) years minimum experience working in private sector, in healthcare administration or with healthcare systems, and/or in nonprofit management, fundraising, program development, and/or communications Experience working with NGOs, a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

– Good awareness of the law and regulations of humanitarian and international institutions.

– Experience in developing and implementing fundraising strategies, such as crowdfunding, corporate partnerships, and grant writing.

– Experience working in non-traditional work environments, such as a refugee response and/or in the healthcare sector a plus.

– Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to develop and execute work plans and monitor progress towards goals

-Excellent communication skills.

– Ability to work collaboratively with a multicultural and interdisciplinary team, including coordinating with multiple stakeholders and partners; data collection, sorting, and analysis
– Good awareness of fundraising best practices and understanding of donor stewardship.
– Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Language Requirements:

– Excellent English & Arabic communication skills (both oral and written).
