Syria Justice and Accountability Centre

SJAC is a Syrian human rights organization seeking a development consultant to assist in diversifying our funding by securing grants from private foundations and philanthropies. This is a part-time, remote consultancy.

Tasks

  • Conduct a mapping exercise to identify foundations that SJAC should consider targeting
  • Collaborate with SJAC’s leadership team to draft a foundations-focused development strategy for the coming years
  • Connect SJAC with appropriate foundations, brief staff on each donor, and attend initial meetings
  • Guide SJAC’s program team through developing proposals for foundation funding

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management, International Affairs, Communications, or other relevant field; MA in relevant field preferred
  • A development professional with 5-10 years’ experience in cultivating relationships and securing funds from private foundations, preferably for international human rights programming or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successful engagement, development, and implementation of fundraising strategies.
  • Knowledge of funding for programs in the MENA region is a plus
