We’re looking for a Development Project Assistant (14-Month Fixed Term Contract) to join our brilliant Development team. This role is key to ensure our team are supported to successfully deliver our development programme. You can work where, when and how you want with our hub, home, roam approach around the Yorkshire region.

Working under the Land Manager Development Officer S106, you will be a key support in securing land, contract negotiations, planning handover of the schemes to Delivery. the delivery of the S106 projects, liaising with internal/external stakeholders, processing legal & compliance documentation & undertaking site visits and handovers.

What you’ll be getting up to

As someone who loves being organised, you’ll be setting up and maintaining scheme files and checklists (who doesn’t love a good checklist!) to comply with internal, and Homes England, audit requirements.

We’ll look to you to carry out continuous reviews and update development policies and procedures.

You’ll get to know the project managers Development Officer and wider Development team as you work closely with them on coordinating all project information on multiple schemes. The successful delivery of the multiple schemes.

Other times, you might be the one arranging and attending publicity events, working alongside our Communications and Space Homes teams.

We need someone who can be the point of contact with constructors and consultants, and who is confident with processing invoices and payments.

The below would also be great:

  • You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of the housing development process.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Influencing skills in dealing with various stakeholders with conflicting viewpoints and priorities.
  • Experience of building internal relationships and external partnership working.
  • Able to plan, prioritise and manage workload under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • MS Office skills with particular emphasis on MS Word & Excel
  • Eagerness to develop own skills and adapt to change.
  • Personal values and approach that align with YH’s values
  • Ability to work flexibly in line with Hub, Home and Roam principles.
  • An understanding of Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity and how this is applied through our service to customers and colleagues.

It would be an added bonus if you have:

  • A housing or construction related qualification (HNC, NVQ level 4 or similar)
  • Previous experience working with local authorities.

In return, we offer a salary of £28,159.65 per annum for 35 hours per week, 25 days annual leave (rising annually to 30 days) plus Bank Holidays.
