Developer Relations Summer Internship

Developer Relations (DevRel) at Zebra is all about how we support our developer community. Zebra is a large, multi-national IT company with an extensive range of products & solutions, from Android mobile computers & proprietary Link-OS printers, to Linux RFID Readers & machine vision industrial scanners. Just as with Android or iOS tablets and phones, our developer community is what really brings our platforms & products to life – without developers to create solutions for our products using the tools & SDKs we offer, our products wouldn’t be able to be as successful as they are. Given this, our approach to DevRel is to try and make the process of creating solutions as simple as possible for developers. We do this by running a dedicated Developer Portal where our community can find technical information, ask questions (like a Zebra Stack Overflow), read blogs or attend webinars. As well as running monthly technical webinars, we organise annual developer conferences, attend third-party developer events, and manage a number of other developer-focused initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Work with and support the extended Zebra DevRel and DevMarketing team in day-to-day activities directed towards the Android and IoT Developer Community
• Curate content for our products, SDKs, tools & utilities from our various sources ( TechDocs , com, knowledge base , GitHub , etc…) to be hosted on our new Developer Portal
• Monitor internal & external technical communities & identify common technical challenges
• For identified challenges, create external facing content (blogs, short videos, etc…) to help other developers who may encounter the same challenges in the future
• Where possible, provide support for our developer community on our Developer Forums, Stack Overflow, GitHub, etc…
• Provide feedback from a fresh perspective on our existing SDKs, tools, documentation etc…

Qualifications

• Intellectual curiosity with a strong desire to learn and grow
• Ability to collaborate as part of a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, & PowerPoint)
• Technical background and interest
• Some programming knowledge would be a big plus
• Good written & communication skills
• Fluent in English (additional languages would be a plus)
