Monarch Education are recruiting for a unique individual looking for a new challenge as a Deputy Pastoral Manager at an amazing school in the Carterton area of Oxford. The role is on a full-time basis, and to start immediately, working to help transform the lives of students with SEN aged between 9 and 18 years old.

Responsibilities Of a Deputy Pastoral Manager

  • Safeguarding the well-being and safety of pupils
  • Taking responsibility for the pastoral provision for the pupils
  • Ensuring that procedures, routines and rules are properly understood and observed by both pupils and staff
  • Advising and assisting the Head
  • Having an overview of all the issues, pastoral, and extra-curricular, that affect the school.
  • Overseeing the well-being of the staff team
  • Uphold and follow the Staff Code of Conduct
  • Operate at all times within all stated policies and practices of the school
  • Annually reviewing policy and procedure updates
  • Maintaining high professional standards of attendance, punctuality, appearance, conduct and positive, courteous relations with pupils, parents and colleagues
  • Maintaining an attractive and stimulating classroom environment with displays of pupil work and learning resources
  • Maintaining positive working relationships with pupils, colleagues, parents and other members of the school community.
  • Actively contributing to the extra-curricular life of the school through involvement in clubs, outreach activities and, as required, residential trips.
  • Attending staff meetings, assemblies, parent information evenings and house meetings

Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Appropriate degree, with UK PGCE, or other teaching qualification giving QTS
  • Experience in safeguarding and/or pastoral care, in a leadership or management capacity
  • Strong administrative, organisational, IT and analytical skills
  • Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child
  • A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of children
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or a willingness to apply for one through Monarch
  • Relevant reference details covering the last 2 years of employment
