JOB SUMMARY

The Deputy Director of Change Delivery sits within the Executive Office of CARE USA and is responsible for leading the Change Managers within the Transformation team and ensuring that global priority projects, which are supported by Transformation, are delivered with high quality change management to enable their successful implementation. Where issues arise in Transformation projects this role will be required to provide direct support and intervention to ensure resolution and progress.

The Deputy Director of Change Delivery will be also be responsible for ensuring the Change Management approach within the Project Delivery Lifecycle is effectively maintained and embedded across our projects and training and capacity strengthening / sharing is provided to new joiners in the Transformation team as well as more broadly across the organisation in line with demand.

Finally, this role will be responsible for the line management and development of global and regional change managers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Change Management Leadership

  • Ensure that transformation projects successfully complete Change Management deliverables and move through project stage gates, including directly managing interventions in projects where significant risk exists.
  • Align with the Director of Transformation Delivery to ensure a joined up approach to the overarching delivery of projects across the portfolio and to focus on continued capability building and team working to drive better outcomes.

Line Management & Development of Change Managers

  • Line manage, coach, support, and empower Change Managers within the Transformation team with a long-term, cross-project view of coaching in order to develop the team as an organizational capability within the Transformation team.
  • Work with Global Change Managers to ensure projects are designed and developed to facilitate and enable successful deployment/acceptance by end users.

Project Interventions

  • Carry out interventions in projects where they are going off track or not making sufficient progress.
  • Identify issues, problem solve in coordination with project team members and liaise with the Director of Transformation delivery where necessary.
  • Provide stop gap change management support where needed

Change Management Training & Upskilling

  • Maintain the development of the Change Management approach within CARE’s Project Delivery Lifecycle, and drive broader implementation of the approach across the organization.
  • Working with the Director of Transformation Delivery introduce Change Management practices and approaches across the organization and run communities of practice.
  • Provide expertise and guidance to senior stakeholders like the Steer Cos, the Project Sponsors, the members of the Transformation Committee

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Master’s degree in a related field (Communications/Journalism/Marketing, organizational development, change management, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 5-7 years’ practical experience in change management of large scale and complex transformational change initiatives
  • Experienced in leading change management in organisational change projects
  • Experienced of working across a project lifecycle to deliver change management oversight and interventions
  • A deep understanding of organizational dynamics and culture, and the ability to navigate political landscapes
  • Experience working in a global organization, with knowledge of cultural differences
  • Strong problem solving and analytics background
