Team Rubicon (TR) is seeking a Deputy Director, International Field Leadership & Training. The Deputy Director, International Field Leadership & Training will oversee the management of the international field leadership and medical team cadre, and support disaster response, risk reduction and recovery programming through subject matter expertise. Furthermore, the Deputy Director will oversee the execution of Team Rubicon’s International Training and Selection Course. This will require the ability to exercise extraordinary problem resolution skills and build immediate rapport with a diverse group of stakeholders. The Deputy Director will be responsible for building and managing the availability of international leadership and medical providers, ensuring their ability to rapidly deploy to some of the most challenging environments in the world in less than 24 hours. In collaboration with TR leadership, the Deputy Director will be responsible for the impactful and ethical implementation of the TR EMT-1 and WASH capabilities, collaboration with local leadership and medical infrastructures, and responsible demobilization.

Duties:

  • Oversee the development and management of TR’s international field leadership and medical provider cadre including volunteers & contractors
  • Develop an on-call roster of leaders and medical providers capable of deploying globally within 24 hours
  • Oversee the execution of TR’s International Training and Selection Course (ITSC) to improve the quantity and quality of TR’s deployable roster
  • Provide knowledge management resources for rostered volunteers including pre-deployment briefings, manuals, and policy documentation
  • Review security documentation and contribute to TR mission-specific risk assessments
  • Conduct post-deployment 1-on-1 debriefs with team members
  • Integrate with the International Programs and Program Development team to create new capabilities, support refinement of existing capabilities, and assess outcomes and long-term impact
  • Represent Team Rubicon to foreign governments, intergovernmental agencies, the broader I/NGO community, and current/potential donors

Experience and Background:

  • 8–12 years of field experience with INGO, UN, or USAID in humanitarian aid, international development, or US or Canadian military; Special Forces or Special Operations community a plus
  • Preferred: leadership background in austere or challenging environments, experience in training course development and improvement, or diverse and multi-cultural team building. Medical background highly desired
  • Preferred: proficiency in Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, or French

Job Type:

  • Full-time, salary, exempt

Pay Range:

  • $83,000 – $111,000 per year

Special Requirements:

  • This is a full-time, remote role and the position can be based out of the United States; provides a flexible & non-traditional work schedule (relocation expenses not provided)
  • Must meet WHO EMT Vaccination requirements, including COVID-19
  • Up to 30% travel, international and domestic
