We are hiring a Deputy Country Director to serve in our South Sudan office in Juba! We are looking for an experienced leader to provide mentorship and oversight to our team with general oversight on the Operations of the office. This role functions somewhat as a COO in the office. In this role you will also provide guidance in field office vision and leadership. Do you have experience with Operations, Procurement, Logistics, and HR? A day in the life of a Deputy Country Director in South Sudan: At Samaritan’s Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do! We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe.

In the role of Deputy Country Director, you will have the opportunity to: • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him • Serve as a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and will be required to travel to field site on occasion • Monitor humanitarian crises in South Sudan, perform field assessments when necessary, and advise the CD of potential response options. • Be a spiritual leader for national and international staff. • Host VIP trips including media personnel, government officials, dignitaries, donors and IHQ visitors. When needed, represent Samaritan’s Purse with journalists and media outlets. • Oversee HR, IT, Operations, Logistics, Procurement, and our Mobile Medical Units • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience: • Bachelor’s degree and five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Strong organizational, communication, and networking skills. • Knowledge of project planning and implementation. • Experienced in cross-cultural team leadership. • Extensive field humanitarian experience in a management role. • Understanding and experience in logistics. • Experience of financial and administrative coordination. • Ability to coordinate activities with local involvement and NGO networks. • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies required but can be completed after hire.

Job Location: Juba, South Sudan Type: Full- Time Language Requirement: Fluency in English (required) Accompaniment: Unaccompanied Travel Expectations: Occasional domestic travel to field sites, approximately 60/annually; required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary
