Your job purpose will be to manage the day to day activities of small on site print room. The print room is based on a hospital site and you will be dealing with job requests as they come in and working to deliver jobs as soon as possible. You will also be responsible for keeping a track of job tickets for billing purposes and keeping a track of stock and supplies to ensure they are kept up to date and replenished.

We are looking for an independent person to lead our onsite print room, someone who is capable of managing the onsite team and everyday work activities. We are looking for someone who can react to challenges day to day and who has a drive and passion to see work through to the end. You will have responsibility of two other individuals on site and you will report in to the regional operations manager for the account.

Previous work in a print room is desirable but not essential, good knowledge of handling emails, excel spreadsheets and computer file management are essential.

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Responsible for handling of job tickets and seeing them through to completion and delivery
  • Maintain and update various trackers to ensure jobs are logged and billed correctly
  • Responsible for maintaining holiday records to ensure we have adequate cover on site at all times.
  • Act as a point of contact for resolving day-to-day issues for customer as well as your operations manager
  • Liaise with suppliers and customers on a daily basis, order chasing, updating on job tickets etc..
  • Establish and maintain a set of departmental performance metrics and initiate improvements where shortfalls are highlighted.
  • Maintain print equipment and flag any faults or issues to technical support to ensure optimal uptime of devices
  • Be able to prioritise job tickets and work with customer to set expectations around job delivery times.
  • Maintain stock levels of paper, stationary, print toners etc to ensure print room is fully operational.
  • Ensure print room is kept clean and tidy all time. Ensure team is doing efficient waste management.
  • Keep equipment in full working order, regularly calibrated and maintained, logged for
  • Train and manage the print operator team .

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Computer literacy. Can learn new programs quickly. Have a working knowledge of all Microsoft programs, Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
  • Communications skills. Can collect/check/correct information to produce standard reports, write memos, letters etc. Read, understand, and make practical use of published information.
  • Interpersonal skills. Can give guidance and support to others and to provide/obtain information from other areas of the Company and external agencies.
  • Self-motivated and able to both lead and work as part of an integrated team, ability to identify work priorities to maximise time available.
  • Good management skills, capable of balancing the needs of the team with the needs of the business.
  • Previous management preferred, previous print room work preferred
