London College of Fashion has been nurturing creative talent for over a century and enjoys a global reputation for its unique fashion business courses, high quality teaching and research.

To ensure this continues we are looking to appoint a new Dean to play a pivotal role in the strategic direction and academic and managerial leadership of the Fashion Business School at London College of Fashion.

The Key Responsibilities Of This Role Will Include

  • Delivering effective management to the academic and support teams of the school
  • Fully participating in the operational and strategic development processes for the college
  • Having key input relating to student number planning and resource requirements to support the curriculum offer
  • Ensuring that learning and teaching is supported by effective digital and physical learning environments
  • Developing a progressive course portfolio
  • Responsibility for the ongoing promotion and development of the curriculum offer

The post holder will be accountable to the PVC/Head of College and will be a member of the College Executive

Group and will work with the team to shape strategic planning for London College of Fashion and University of the Arts London.

The Dean will also have significant input into the planned relocation of the college estate to Stratford over the next five years and will play a crucial role in the planning for the future of the school in its new location.

Your profile

The ideal candidate will be recognised as a leading authority with demonstrable knowledge of fashion business as well as knowledge of academic provision, trends and issues in universities, both national and global.

They will also require demonstrable knowledge of one or more fields of contemporary fashion or business related research, as well as experience of teaching and leadership in a higher education Institution.

Experience of formulating strategic direction within an organisation and knowledge exchange leadership is equally important.
