Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, student affairs or a closely related field. Two (2) years of related work experience in a college setting.
Desired Qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited institution in higher education administration, student affairs, or closely related field. Proficiency in operating a personal computer, using Skype, and Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Working Hours: Will vary between 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. Occasional evening and weekends are required.
Please note: This position will be based at the Daytona Beach Campus. However, responsibilities of this position may require travel for temporary assignment or permanent relocation to any of Daytona State College campuses.
The salary is $39,000.00

Key Responsibilities
Collaborates with the Director of Academic Advising on the design, development, oversight, implementation, documentation and assessment of retention programs for online students.
Work collaboratively with the Division of Online Studies to promote online student success through improved processes and student outreach campaigns.
Collaborates with various offices across the campus to promote retention-focused partnerships and programs.
Review student records for retention issues; follow up on progress through personal contact and correspondence.
Coach students through administrative barriers that are preventing them from progressing towards their degree.
Coordinates communications that promote retention.
Coordinate conferences or referrals to appropriate student services such as Financial Aid, Registration and Records, and Academic Support services.
Develops and implements evaluation tools to assess student retention
Document and track student contacts and issues using electronic files; prepare periodic reports.
Conduct special topics workshops for student engagement.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Knowledge of or ability to learn student information systems such as PeopleSoft
Knowledge of FERPA Regulations for handling student records.
Knowledge and ability to advise or counsel a diverse student population.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision.
Ability to utilize data and information to make decisions and projections.
Ability to work collaboratively and build strategic relations with colleagues, coworkers, constituents, and volunteers.
Ability to interact in a professional manner with a diverse group of staff, faculty, students, and the community in a service-oriented environment.
Ability to think critically and creatively, have a high standard of integrity, and be motivated to incorporate best practices into the organizational structure.
Ability to take initiative to plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situations when numerous and diverse demands are involved.
Ability to operate personal computers with proficiency and learn new applications and systems.
Ability to develop and deliver training presentations and programs.
Ability to assess program needs and conceptualize new programs.
Ability to develop short and long term strategic plans.
