£27,500 – £28,500 depending on experience & skills

DAWN delivers tailor-made crisis intervention and face to face support around domestic abuse including controlling, coercive, threatening, degrading and violent behavior. DAWN is a free, confidential, non-judgmental service for individuals who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse. DAWN’s ethos is to believe and empower victims, to validate feelings, to dispel myths around domestic abuse, and to enable individuals to make informed decisions to make their own changes.

The role: The Senior Project Worker will assist the Project Manager in ensuring that the DAWN service continues to deliver effective and excellent services, maintains contract compliance, completes any other required tasks. They will deputise for the Project Manager and will be a supportive asset to the DAWN team. They will also be the first point of contact for anyone wishing to access DAWN services. As the DAWN project continues to expand, they will be required to be flexible as other tasks will be delegated according to the needs of the project. This could also include overseeing new/different initiatives within DAWN. There will also be a requirement to provide telephone support to those on waiting list for face-to-face support and to support group work.

Experience

• 2 years’ experience of working with those who have experienced domestic abuse

• Experience of DASH risk assessment and safety planning including risk management plans and MARAC

• Experience of safeguarding procedures for children and adults

• An understanding of court processes, both criminal and civil, affecting families

• An understanding of housing options available to victims of domestic abuse including emergency accommodation

• An understanding of the Freedom program and peer support networks

• Experience of report writing, performance monitoring and providing contract management information
