Our Data Analyst and Quality Assurance Officer are going on maternity leave. Therefore we have a temporary exciting challenge available with War Child.

Overview

The Data & Quality Assurance Officer is a critical role in supporting effective grant management of War Child Alliance (WCA), meets or exceeds established quality standards for grant acquisition and grant management, contributing to effective risk management across programmes and driving continuous success of the team, department and organization. The main purpose of this role is to support evidence-based decision-making and drive continuous improvement within the WCA by checking of the internal compliance procedures and processes.

This role reports to senior managers of IFGD team and coordinates and collaborates closely with other colleagues within WCA departments, country and regional teams, directors of global programmes and other relevant departments in the Fundraising members’ offices. The role requires a high level of initiative, innovation, leadership and problem-solving skills, and has both internal and external impact on the WCA’s operations, programming and reputation.

The WCA has a dedicated Institutional Funding[1] and Grants Delivery (IFGD) department that is part of the larger Programme Implementation and Institutional Funding (PIIF) department.

This position can be stationed in the countries where WCH has its offices (the successful candidate needs to be eligible to work in that location; preference given to local candidates).

Your Challenge

  • Contributing to and monitoring internal and external grant management compliance
  • Working with Fundraising Members’ counterparts to prepare and arrange sign-off of Inter-Agency Agreements for all grants requiring them
  • Administering registrations and maintaining access of donor portals to ensure that relevant War Child entities can utilize them
  • Signaling concerns related to adherence to donor quality standards and regulations to the senior management and advise on improvements needed
  • Assisting country, regional and global teams as well as the Fundraising members’ offices with data analysis
  • Leading the IATI project and coordinate all WCA’s IATI publications as well as review the quality of data published in standards (IATI) and internal systems (Rafiki)
  • Researching specific donor or grant requirements for IATI publications and publish in IATI in a compliant way
  • Supporting relevant teams with organizational improvements on grant management and information management
  • Contributing to the review of the department’s working processes and propose learning solutions
  • Providing training to country, regional, global teams and Fundraising members’ offices on different elements relating to grant management systems, compliance and data analysis

Your Profile

  • Relevant academic background in international development studies, social science, public administration or international business, or similar working experience
  • At least 3 years of experience of compliance with institutional donor requirements, grant management, project management, quality control, learning & development; project budgeting and /or statistics are an advantage
  • Experience with institutional donors such as USAID, EC, The Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UNHCR or UNICEF is valued
  • Experience with data analysis with Salesforce or similar grant management systems
  • Demonstratable experience with IATI
  • Demonstratable knowledge of project management in an NGO setting, data analysis and research
  • Advanced Excel user.
  • Demonstrable expertise in data management systems including Salesforce
  • Knowledge regarding current developments and trends in the (international) aid sector
  • Excellent communicator and advisory skills, willing to share knowledge and experience
  • Excellent planning, organizational ability, team oriented, flexible, pro-active approach to working with others and result-oriented
  • Fluency in English required and preferably good working knowledge of Spanish, French or Arabic

Our Offer

  • The following offer is based on a Dutch employment contract, actual conditions depend on the local office
  • Salary range from € 3365 – € 4184 gross per month, based on 40 hours per week (the exact step determined by the years of relevant working experience).
  • An employment contact with War Child for 40 hours per week from approximately March 2024 until September 2024 (exact dates in discussion)
  • 28 vacation days on full time basis (consisting of 26 vacation days plus 2 additional fixed free days, based on 40 hours work week).
  • A pension scheme fully paid by War Child.
  • Compensation for travel and work from home costs.
  • Laptop to work from any location and monthly mobile phone contribution of € 25.
