DATA PROCESSING OFFICER- PROGRAMMER- LT03900

1 POSITION – BASED IN NAIROBI

Main Purpose

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager the incumbent shall be responsible for carrying out Data Entry, Web and Mobile App Development for cross-platform to automate the activities of the Logistics system, according to MSF standards and procedures and producing appropriate reports to support decision-making processes and contribute to efficient functioning of these systems in the mission.

Specific accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • To develop small to medium cross platform applications for the organization as required
  • To maintain and upgrade existing (in house developed) applications
  • To maintain, encode and populate data in KO website as required
  • Advise manager on possible security vulnerability of the website
  • To help developing system automation in various area of KO activities
  • To help developing small scale mobile apps for KO activities
  • To evaluate applications that are ongoing development, identifying any bugs/errors and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • To prepare KPI data visualization for the management
  • To share monthly KPI reports with relevant stakeholders
  • To customize data from the system as required by the management
  • To manage the existing file archiving system, ensuring a basic system is set up to properly document and manage all the archived files for KO, SO and Loki.
  • Assists with any other data processing or related tasks as required

Requirements

Education

  • Degree in Computer Science

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years work experience in data entry/analysis

Languages

  • Fluent in English and Kiswahili essential

Knowledge Required

  • Good understanding of Object Oriented Programming and Software System Design concepts.
  • Extensive knowledge of mobile app development. This includes the whole process, from the first line of code to publishing in the APP store(s)
  • Familiar and feel comfortable in writing code at least one / most well-known cross-platform technologies such as Flutter
  • Practical knowledge of using RESTful APIs and mobile libraries for networking.
  • Python, Javascript, C++, and HTML experience.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Microsoft SharePoint, MS Power Apps, MS Power BI, Odoo module, and mobile app development experience
  • Experience in debugging and testing mobile applications
  • Ability to write clean, well-documented code.
  • Excellent complex problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Aptitude for learning new technology
