The Opportunity

Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the Data & Insights Analyst inLondon Centre

ROLE PURPOSE:

The key focus of this role will be to:

  • Design, develop, implement, maintain and improvement data management and reporting systems for Awards and wider International Programs (IP) functions to enable continuous improvement
  • Ensure Data Quality within the Award Management System used across the organization, as well as robustness and reliability of this data in other IP dashboards and reports
  • Contribute to International Program’s Data and Insights 22-24 strategy (under development), enabling implementing and regional offices to take operational oversight to the next level
  • Lead in the generation of high-quality reports and insights that inform senior management decision-making

This role sits within the IP Operations Continuous Improvement Team, but splits its time (50%) with Award Management, to ensure there is accurate organisational oversight of Awards. In the 2022-2024 strategic period, Save the Children is eager to consolidate its efforts on data and insights in the field of Program Operations (inclusive of Awards) to enable more agile, data-driven decision-making and automation. This role will play a key role in implementing that plan.

This role will act as an intermediary between the wider IP & Award Management teams and IT teams to design, build and test new reports, as well as improvements to the Award Management System. This role will play a key role in analysing and interpreting data and providing insights on trends and patterns in Save the Children’s core business processes such as award management, operational performance etc.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

  • Proven experience in Data Analysis, Data Quality and / or Support Analysis, with a strong understanding of systems.
  • Experience of working with databases and database languages (e.g. SQL).
  • Experience in developing dashboards and reports linked to databases (e.g. PowerBI, SSRS)
  • Strong Excel skills (Pivot tables, connecting to data sources).
  • Good communication skills (written & oral English), including the ability to communicate and present both at a technical and non-technical level
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop productive relationships across business units
  • Proactive, able to use initiative and progress continuous improvements
  • Outstanding customer service orientation and follow-up skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Ability to learn new web/collaborative systems and applications quickly
  • Ability to work well under pressure

Desirable

  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies and principles and experience applying these
  • Cultural awareness and experience of delivering global web solutions that cater for local needs (e.g. area with poor bandwidth, multiple character sets, etc.)
  • Experience in working with offshore project team members
  • Interest in global issues and desire to work within a global NGO

We can offer circa £44,000 per annum (If based in UK) with an option of flexible working hours. If the role is based outside of the UK, National T&C (including pay) will apply.
