Are you someone who values cross-departmental, interdisciplinary cooperation and is authentic? Do you enjoy using your creative, pragmatic and analytical way of thinking, are you committed, and are you passionate about promoting digital transformation and anything data-related? If so, you are just what we’re looking for, as you can help us to unleash the power of data and AI and to drive efficiency and innovation!

How You Make a Difference

  • As part of the central “Data & Insights” department at Swiss Post, you are responsible for developing and establishing data governance for the group. Together with your stakeholders, you set out guidelines for efficient data management so that data is easy to find and comprehensible, and to ensure there are clear responsibilities.
  • In a decentralized organizational model, you interact with the data managers and the heads of the decentralized data teams, and you help develop standards and tools with Architecture.
  • You advise and support the units in relation to their data management activities while ensuring data governance principles are enshrined in the organization.
  • You establish data governance roles in the organization, set out how they cooperate, and you make sure they can be put into practice effectively to promote an efficient, cooperative working environment.
  • In addition, you establish robust practices for metadata management, and, in collaboration with Legal, you ensure data protection throughout the organization.
  • You work with relevant teams and units to ensure data governance activities are coordinated seamlessly.
  • You actively promote a data culture through each interaction you have with stakeholders. You play a key role in raising awareness and refining people’s skills in handling data, which ultimately improves the data-driven, decision-making process.

What You Have To Offer

  • You have a degree in economics, (business) informatics, business engineering, or a similar area.
  • You are passionate about data, and your outstanding analytical skills, problem-solving abilities and communication skills make your day-to-day work easier.
  • Your many years of experience in data governance and data strategy in big companies means you are able to skilfully overcome challenges in day-to-day work and that you have no trouble understanding user needs.
  • You have experience with data catalogues and other tools that help implement data governance.
  • You have a structured approach to work and you enjoy developing topics and structures.
  • You have a very good knowledge of German and a good knowledge of English so you are able communicate as effectively as possible with your stakeholders.
