This job is 100% remote and can be based in Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal or the U.K.
YOUR MISSION
- Design, develop and maintain the foundation for YAZIO’s data-driven decision-making
- Write and operate a wide range of data pipelines using Kotlin, Dagster and Kubernetes
- Ingest and transform data from various APIs and sources
- Understand and optimize query performance for our data lake
- Deploy and operate various services for our data analysts, such as Apache Zeppelin, Dash and Trino
- Work on a data lake that grows by approximately 200 million records per day
- Help make technological decisions from day one
YOUR PROFILE
- 3+ years of experience in either data engineering, software engineering or system administration
- Strong ambition to learn what you don’t know about the tasks above
- An independent, goal-oriented work ethic
- Open-minded towards the implementation of new technology
- Some experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies
- Experience in some of the following or comparable technologies: Kotlin, Python, Kubernetes, Trino, Apache Hive, Apache Spark, Dagster, Apache Parquet
- A good grasp on information security best practices
- Fluent in English with excellent written communication skills; German is a plus
- Interest in nutrition and fitness is a plus
