Overview

Jhpiego seeks for a two (2) Data Analysts to support data collection, verification, management and analysis for an innovative Unitaid project that seeks to reduce PPH-related mortality and morbidity globally. The two positions are located in Ondo and Sokoto States. Accelerating Measurable Progress and Leveraging Investments for PPH Impact (AMPLI-PPHI) is a two and half-year project that will catalyze early adoption and set the stage for scale up of new and recently recommended drugs for postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) in high-burden countries with a focus on DRC, Guinea, India, Kenya, Nigeria and Zambia. AMPLI- Nigeria will generate evidence (feasibility, acceptability, costing) to support the expansion of new PPH medicines at all different levels of the health system. Project efforts will also focus on supporting efforts towards State and national readiness, from community to district and national level stakeholders, to help propel scale-up after life of project

The Data Analysts will work closely with Senior MERL Advisor in ensuring timely and accurate assessment, monitoring and research data management, analysis and reporting, provide key support for development of paper-based and/or mobile data collection tools, development and adherence to data management standard operating procedures, and conducting data verification and routine data quality assessments. The Data Analysts will ensure timely and accurate data entry into project and organizational DHIS databases, and prepare data for donor reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure relevant data is entered into project databases and JADE, Jhpiego’s organization-wide performance management system, designed to capture, analyze, and disseminate project data
  • Conduct initial analysis of quantitative and qualitative data
  • Data collection, cleaning, validation and triangulation.
  • Develop dashboards for data visualization
  • Develop and code tools using data collection applications
  • Support key stakeholders to utilize data for decision making.
  • Support program team in MER
  • Contribute to results reporting to Unitaid by providing written documentation on M&E activities and indicator results for progress and annual reports, as appropriate.
  • Assist in management, quality assurance and analysis of implementation research and assessment data.
  • Work closely with Jhpiego home office staff to ensure effective, timely and coordinated project implementation

Required Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, social science, computer science, health informatics or a related field
  • 5+ years of work experience in data management, preferably for health sector development programs (approximately $10M per year), and at least 2-3 years experience working in data analyst position
  • Extensive experience and familiarity with national health management information system and/or DHIS2. Proficiency in Microsoft PowerBI preferred.
  • Previous work experience in Routine Data Quality Assessment (RDQA)
  • Strong ability to process and analyze data using one or more statistical software packages (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS), DHIS2 and/or excel
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically periodically
  • Implementation research data collection and/or analysis experience
  • Maternal health program or research experience
  • Proficiency in one or more qualitative analysis software packages
  • Past training on human subjects research ethics and data protection
