Consultant Terms of Reference

Kuja Kuja Data Analyst

Duration: November 1, 2022 to January 31st, 2023.

Location: Remote

The Data Analyst is a key role for the region supporting the operations worldwide analyzing the data collected and delivering outstanding reports and presentations to our partners and donors. This role will guide new initiatives regarding data analysis and collection tools.

The person will be guided by the Project Lead and the Director of Product and Data Analysis, and receive support from the Kuja Kuja Global Team.

Purpose and Objectives:

  • Support the data analysis components of Kuja Kuja, specifically analyzing data collected for the Ukraine Response
  • Taking into account the context and situation for the Ukraine Response, guide new initiatives regarding data analysis and collection tools
  • Deliver outstanding reports and presentations to our partners and donors

Specific Activities

  • Analyze unstructured data on a daily basis as it is refreshed to track trends in topics.
  • Assist various testing and optimization efforts by performing analysis of information from multiple data sources to support data informed decision making at all levels.
  • Work with internal engineering teams on a regular basis to provide feedback and identify areas of potential improvement.
  • Troubleshoot data quality issues.
  • Work with partners to define reports and new visualizations as needed.
  • Conduct presentations to different stakeholders (High-level of English).
  • Elaborate and update reports in different tech tools (visualizations).
  • Collaborate with the team in preparing donor reports as well as new partners requirements (written/dashboard).
  • Contribute to the development of our product by sharing learnings and insights with the Tech and Executive team.
  • Participate in discussions with the Global team to define strategy and next steps.
  • Support other regions (i.e. LATAM, Africa) sharing learnings and good practices.

Tasks to be completed by November 30, 2022

  1. Analyze, categorize, and lead the translation of all data inputs from the Ukraine response on an ongoing basis.
  2. Liaise with KK Ukraine and Global teams to iterate data products and webform surveys based on partner feedback.
  3. Produce 4 weekly (short form) and 1 monthly (long form) reports to share with Kuja Kuja partners

Skills and experience we’re seeking

  • A Bachelor of Science degree or higher within Economics, Social Science, Computer Science, Engineering or a relative field of study or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of data analytics.
  • Fluency in Gsuite and MS Excel.
  • Experience building & delivering presentations.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as: Tableau, Google Data Studio, etc.
  • Hands-on experience working with unstructured data.
  • Python programming, experience with numpy, pandas, Scikit-Learn, etc; is a plus.
  • High proficiency in English, Ukrainian, and Russian (speaking, writing, and reading) is a must.
  • Able to analyze, model, and interpret large volumes of raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure and rapidly respond to requirements.
  • A fascination with people, places, and the social structures that condition human behaviors and our experience of the world.
  • Love of innovation and design, a hunger for creating new things, and a desire to mentor, guide, and teach others as they learn to become leaders.
  • Sense of humor and an ability to roll with the changing needs of a very human technology startup.
