Job Purpose and Impact

The Dairy Technical Sales Professional (Remote covering Central and North Alberta) will work as part of a team to differentiate our product offering leading to stronger business relationships with our clients resulting in incremental sales and margin opportunities. In this role, you will learn how to prospect clients, identify opportunities, uncover needs and proactively identify new ideas and commodity marketing strategies while providing education around possible solutions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Participate in a development program to prepare you to become a successful commodity Advisor where you will be providing a consultative service with commodity customers.
  • Partner with commodity and risk management experts to develop technical expertise.
  • Participate in a collaborative mentoring program across job functions to gain a wider perspective of the whole business,
  • Build knowledge on multiple aspects of the position through formal training, peer shadowing and hands-on experience.
  • Develop knowledge to help customers prosper and maximize their return by utilizing our full range of products, solve customer problems and create new opportunities.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems quickly and make decisions in a conclusive manner
  • Experience working in a farm, with farmers in Dairy sales
  • Availability to travel throughout Alberta and Western Canada
  • Possess a valid Canadian Full Class Driver’s Licence in good standing, authorizing you to drive independently during the course of your employment.
  • Demonstrated sales skills and aptitude
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience
  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comprehension of risk management tools
