Extends credit to and monitors loan portfolios of custom mortgage ultra high net worth clients. Works closely with private banking relationship managers in providing custom mortgage solutions to meet the client’s requirements or in reviewing credit standards. Possesses some loan approval authority. Three to five plus years of credit experience. Performs all underwriting tasks for custom mortgage loan requests to ultra high net worth clients of Global Wealth and Investment Management (GWIM), which includes Private Wealth Management and Merrill.

This position is subject to SAFE Act registration requirements. Pursuant to the SAFE Act requirements, all employees engaged in residential loan mortgage originations must register with the federal registry system and remain in good standing. Since your position requires SAFE Act registration, you will be required to register and to submit to the required SAFE Act background check and registration process. Failure to obtain and/or maintain SAFE Act registration may result in your immediate termination.

Line of Business Job Description:

The position works closely with client teams and credit partners, completes customized credit approval packages, approval memos and other standard documents and manages the documentation process to ensure on-time loan booking.

The ideal candidate can analyze risks and identify mitigates, recommend risk ratings, exposure strategies, credit structures and sponsor recommendations through the approval process. This role interfaces with client teams, risk, residential real estate credit specialists, servicing, and legal partners to support the timely delivery of the credit solutions.

Primary duties include underwriting and obtaining credit approval for custom mortgage loan products to clients of Global Wealth and Investment Management.

Required Skills:

  • Analyze and spread personal financial information and tax returns and evaluate debt capacity
  • Analyze due diligence including personal, legal and collateral-dependent
  • Manage multiple deals simultaneously with different constituents depending on deal stage

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or economics preferred
  • Formal credit training at a major US Financial Institution preferred
  • 3-5 years of commercial credit experience
