Duties and Responsibilities
• Providing thorough analysis, recommendations to the CSM on security protocols in MAG’s areas of operations
• Liaising with relevant stakeholders in Iraq to collect context-specific security information to inform security planning
• Delivering MAG Iraq’s security letters/documents to relevant government departments/ stakeholders
• Establish a network of contacts with local authorities in order to maintain an overview of the Governorate security profile
• Supporting safe transit of MAG Iraq’s staff and visitors in the field through monitoring security situations and reporting concerns
• Reporting any safety issues to Iraq CSM and HSE Manager and facilitate implementation where required
• Security focal point in Mosul for site security services and reporting non-compliance to CSM
• Updating CSM on security incidents to ensure staff safety
• Supporting Community Liaison and clearance teams with local risk assessments and access support
• Supporting CSM and Key Staff in Iraq program with the annual renewal of security-related documents and clearances
• Supporting the CSM with site, area and road assessment within Nineveh Governorate and other locations as and when required
• Managing the implementation of security mitigation upgrades as requested and directed by the CSM
• Supporting other MAG departments as and when required to maintain operational delivery
• Undertake any other security-related duties appropriate to the post as may be required
• Support the Country Director in maintaining a safe working environment for all staff within the Iraq program
• In coordination with CSM, participate in external meetings with local stakeholders and authorities, participate in security meetings of NGOs, UN organizations, and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to the update and facilitation of security trainings.


Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Essential skills and experience:
• Experience of a minimum of 3 years with NGOs or international organizations in a position related with security, context and/or representation
• Higher education degree in political sciences, international relations, security, or related Fields, or equivalent background acquired through extensive professional experience.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize and share complex details in a simple manner.
• Excellent negotiation and representation skills; able to network across a variety of stakeholders.
• Demonstrated communication and organizational skills.
• Flexibility and ability to multi-task under pressure.
• Willingness to work and live in often remote areas under basic conditions.
• Proven ability to work creatively and independently both in the field and in the office.
• Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English, fluent in Arabic. Basic knowledge of Kurdish language is an added Value.
• Excellent computer skills with high proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs
