The Austrian Red Cross (AutRC) is offering a job opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Country Representative (CoRep) for Ukraine, based in Lviv/Kyiv. The purpose of the CoRep is to oversee general management of projects in Ukraine. The CoRep will ensure that projects are delivered to a high technical standard in line with AutRC, donor, and international best practices. The CoRep is responsible for strong coordination with the Ukraine Red Cross Society (URCS) and other movement partners in country.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Represent AutRC towards URCS, ICRC, IFRC and other movement partners and stakeholders
  • Together with URCS lead the development of an AutRC program strategy based on the needs in country
  • Coordinate and cooperate with RCRC movement partners, lead and manage strategic partnerships
  • Identify strategic program initiatives and provide leadership in formulating proposals and budgets
  • Ensure financial supervision, quality control and monitoring of AutRC supported programs in Ukraine, and provide regular progress reports to the AutRC HQ
  • Introduce innovation and best practices to enhance program and operational performance
  • Ensure a proper security set-up for the AutRC in Ukraine under the ICRC security umbrella
  • Lead and manage the AutRC teams in Ukraine

Your profile and skills:

  • Austrian (EU) work permit
  • At least five years international humanitarian and/or development experience (NGO, IO or Charity) at programme management level, experience in the RCRC movement is a strong asset
  • Degree or diploma in development studies, project management or a relevant field
  • Excellent project and finance management skills (including budgeting and budget control)
  • Work experience in the Eastern European region is an asset
  • Excellent English skills, German, Ukrainian and/or Russian would be an asset
  • Teamplayer and culturally sensitive personality
  • Strong experience in people management, managing and supporting staff
  • Ability to work under pressure and lead a multicultural team in complex and demanding environments

We offer:

  • Job location: Lviv or Kyiv
  • Start of employment: June 2022
  • Duration: minimum 1 year with option to extend
  • Compensation: depends on qualifications and experience, minimum monthly all-in salary of € 4.115,00 gross
