SPARK is looking for a results-oriented and experienced development professional to serve as a SPARK representative in Ukraine. This position builds on work to date to support start-up work of SPARK in Ukraine. The position is a mix between new business capture, project delivery, which has yet to be fully established, and administrative responsibilities. The position offers an exciting opportunity for the candidate to take on challenges in a new country of work for SPARK, and contribute to significant impact for Ukraine in the areas of entrepreneurship and jobs creation for youth.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Represent SPARK with donors, partners, stakeholders, government representatives;
  • Advise on country strategy, programme design, and donor and partner engagement;
  • Lead on new business growth for SPARK through tracking funding opportunities, networking, and engaging relevant funders
  • Develop high-quality reports on the situation in Ukraine, potential stakeholders, partners, beneficiaries;
  • Contribute to identifying talent, including staff and consultants;
  • Support on local administration and compliance matters; and
  • Other tasks which may arise due to transforming nature of the situation and SPARK’s role.

Requirements:

  • At least 7 years of experience working in Ukraine, in the development sector, entrepreneurship or business development functions, and/or target sectors (agriculture, digital, and green)
  • Bachelors required; Master’s strongly preferred in relevant field, such as business, economics, international relations, project management, etc;
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Ukrainian; other languages are an asset;
  • Have strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to cultivate, build, and maintain strong working relationships with potential stakeholders, partners, beneficiaries, government institutions, and other relevant areas;
  • Detail oriented, forward thinking, and proactive;
