12 month fixed term contract

The starting salary package for this position is £47,860 GBP / approx. $61,097 USD including all allowances

About MAG:

MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is an international humanitarian organisation based in Manchester, UK, and working in 32 countries. We remove landmines and unexploded ordnance to release safe and productive land for communities, and work to reduce the threat of armed violence by supporting governments to safely manage weapons and ammunition. In 1997, MAG was a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for our work campaigning for the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention.

About the role:

Within this role you will oversee and lead the programme’s Logistics department. With travel throughout the region you will be responsible for all procurement and logistics activity, including asset management, fleet management and inventory management, whilst ensuring that controls are designed, implemented, adhered to and continuously improved in line with MAG policies, good practice and donor guidelines. You will lead on the ongoing development of the Logistics team, recruiting, training and managing all locally recruited logistics staff in the programme, focussing on building capacity. You will also provide strategic procurement and logistics expertise to the Programme SMT.

About you:

We are looking for candidates with at least 3 -5 years humanitarian sector experience with demonstratable knowledge of coordinating all aspects of a robust supply chain. The successful candidate will need to have excellent leadership and motivational skills and will have experience in building the capacity of a team of locally recruited staff. Excellent communication skills required to collaborate effectively with various internal and external stakeholders. Proven experience of managing logistical controls and complex inventory & distribution supply chain, and also in leading procurement activities in a growing programme is essential.

MAG has been responding to the Syria crisis since 2013 working to support the development from conflict by finding and destroying the explosive remnants of war, so that communities can raise their families and pursue their livelihoods in a safe and secure environment, free from fear of death or injury.
