Background
Vétérinaires Sans Frontières – Germany (VSF Germany) is a non-governmental, non-profit making international Organization, engaged in the field of veterinary relief and development work providing humanitarian aid and development assistance to pastoralists and vulnerable communities in areas where livestock is of importance. With support in animal health, agriculture, marketing, and food safety, VSFG works towards food security and strengthened livelihoods of pastoralist communities. VSF Germany implements activities in Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Kenya, Uganda and Somalia.
VSF Germany seeks to recruit qualified and well experienced staff for the position of Finance Manager to be based at VSF Germany office at Juba, South Sudan. The holder of this position will have an overall financial oversight for all projects implemented in South Sudan Country Program under VSF Germany. The pay range for this position attracts a maximum of $3,500 per month gross with placement determined by the level of experience as assessed during the recruitment process. Job Summary:
The purpose and role of Country Finance Manager is to ensure sound financial management and coordination of country financial/accounting. This entails supporting project based operation and consolidation of project finance reports. The holder of the position will also provide leadership in cash management, grant management and management accounting for South Sudan country program.
Key Areas of responsibility:
- Overall leadership in country finance management
- Cash Management for the whole country program
- Grant Management for the country program
- Consolidation of finance reports for projects implemented in South Sudan Country Program
- Training and capacity building
- Review of documents and reports
- Supervision and verification of supplier accounts, customer accounts, invoices & payment process.
- Support in both internal and external audits and finance related reviews
- Budgeting (Development and control)
- Supervision of staff in finance department in South Sudan Country Program
- Communication
Job Requirement:
- A Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or Commerce.
- CPA/ACCA Finalist an added advantage
- At least 8 years’ working experience as an accountant and with supervisory duties, 3 of which should be in a management position in an INGO
- Well-developed Information Communication and Technology (ICT) skills with hands on experience with computerized accountings applications. Good knowledge of MS Dynamics/Navision is highly desirable
- Prior knowledge of various donor financial regulations desired
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
