International Rescue Committee

Program Brief IRC has responded to the Venezuelan crisis by supporting Venezuelans crossing the arc of the migration pattern, including Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. In Peru and Ecuador, IRC works in the areas of health, economic recovery and development, protection, and education. Since January 2021, we have expanded our response in Ecuador and in 2022 to Peru, establishing projects and strategic alliances with local partners, with emphasis on border corridors, across borders, and along corridors of mobility and corridors of settlement. IRC works to strengthen the capacity of local partners to provide access to quality sexual and reproductive health services, nutrition, basic needs, and dignified livelihoods for the migrant population. Peru and Ecuador represent opportunities for integration programming for Venezuelans but also have internal dynamics of displacement due to climate change in Ecuador and Peru and increased chronic violence in Ecuador.
