Counsel

CVS Health is seeking a Legal Counsel who will provide legal oversight and guidance to a database team that administers Omnicare’s long-term care (LTC) contracts database. The person in this role will provide reviews and advice concerning LTC contracts with facilities and review on-going relationships for compliance with health care regulatory requirements. He or she will report to the Senior Counsel for LTC contracting and work with the compliance team for Omnicare to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

The role is also responsible to:

• Directly manage and provide legal guidance to the LTC contracts database management team;
• Provide legal advice and support to inquiries and requests from the business and other key stakeholders;
• Review and analyze applicable statutes and regulations and provide guidance to business and other key stakeholders regarding the same;
• Draft and/or review contracts and internal/external communications relating to customer contracts;
• Review and monitor ongoing programs and operations

Required Qualifications

5+ years of legal experience focused on contracting matters and transactions. A preference for knowledge of health care law and privacy law and familiarity with issues relevant to health care providers.

• The ability to work collaboratively in a large, complex corporate structure, and to work sensitively with confidential matters.
• Independent work style and ability to anticipate issues and create and implement methods for optimizing results and minimizing risks. Initiative, drive and self-confidence are required.
• Ability to develop a deep understanding of the business and operational goals of assigned internal clients and work diligently to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients at all levels of the organization.
• Be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and successfully manage many projects simultaneously.
• Law firm experience with in-house and/or government experience preferred.
• Health care law and privacy law experience preferred, but not required.
