Corporate Governance Manager

HSIB conducts independent investigations of patient safety concerns in NHS-funded care across England. The safety recommendations we make aim to improve healthcare systems and processes in order to reduce risk and improve safety. HSIB was formed in 2017 and is funded by the Department of Health & Social Care and hosted by NHS England. The government intends for HSIB to become a fully independent statutory body through the Health and Care Bill.

We are a team of investigation specialists and support staff with a breadth of experience across healthcare and accident prevention and are dedicated to improving patience safety in England.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the organisation as the Corporate Governance Manager on a full time, fixed term basis until end March 2023.

The post holder will report to the Director of Corporate Affairs and will work as part of a dynamic team to manage the transitional work of corporate services through establishing a strong corporate governance framework, risk management framework, strategy, and policies and procedures for the organisation.

Suitable candidates will be qualified to a master’s level or hold equivalent experience relevant to health policy and corporate governance, you will have extensive experience in this field both operationally and strategically and be a team player with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.

The role requires a high level of coordination and cross working between all departments internally and externally, including other arms-length bodies of the Department of Health and Social Care to ensure consistent application of the standards of behaviour in public life.

The reason for the fixed term duration is due to this being a short term vacancy.
