As a culinary chef – Burger King Corporate Chef – you will work on the culinary development of Burger King in the EMEA, APAC and LAC markets. You will be a part of the Global Culinary team and cross-functional teams, franchisee partners, and suppliers to lead NCE (new country entry) and NPD (new product development) activities. You will develop LTOs (limited time offers) initiatives, and lead core menu items superiority. You will ensure individual brand product standards are upheld and protected to Burger King® identity, menu, and ingredient policies.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end new product development to support key brand objectives.
  • Work closely with the Global and Regional Culinary and marketing teams to roll out a global core menu reflecting on specific local markets’ needs while ensuring global brand consistency.
  • Translate consumer insights into product innovations: inspire future pipeline as well translate consumer study results into product improvements.
  • Work with external partners to deliver culinary insights, trends, and inspirations to feed the brand pipeline with robust innovations.
  • Cook Burger King menu, new food products, and culinary-inspired food for product showings, leadership presentations, consumer research, company meetings, board meetings, training sessions, R&D evaluations, and franchisee committees.
  • Coordinate and administrate project meetings, product shipments & deliveries and lead EMEA test kitchen utilization and maintenance for all four brands of RBI.
  • Attend manufacturing production runs to ensure that culinary standards and expectations of commercialized products are being met.
  • Work with the brand Regional Culinary directors on consumer taste test planning and execution for new country entries and core menu items, including taking results of tests into recipe improvements, ensuring product superiority vs. competition.
  • Network with culinary trendsetters within the chef world, culinary organizations, and institutes and work with vendor partners to develop positive working relationships.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a commercial kitchen, the culinary certificate is a plus (from hospitality school, apprenticeship, bachelor’s diploma).
  • Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) in culinary arts, nutrition, and/or food science, food technology.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience (international or specific region) in food service (applicable channels: hotels, FSR, QSR, pubs, catering, industry, or institutional).
  • 2+ years of experience in a corporate R&D environment with a proven track record in leading R&D projects.
  • Experience with sandwiches and/or deli meats are a plus.
  • Experience using commercial kitchen equipment and modern cooking technology is a must.
  • Fluent in English; Additional languages could be an advantage.
  • Creative approach to cooking & problem-solving.
  • Strong concept and recipe development skills, being able to design superior products within a cost target, delivering healthy margins to franchisees.
  • Must demonstrate a passion for food, proactive attitude, and ability to work under time pressure and multitask.

Travel

Travel within EMEA, APAC and LAC regions required approximately 25-50% of total work time.
