Job Summary

HGM is seeking a Summer Intern who will assist the Property Management Team onsite at one of our properties . The Property Management team handles day-to-day operations of multifamily real estate properties.

INTERNS WILL BE EXPOSED TO & PROVIDE SUPPORT IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

  • Multifamily real estate management
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Assist in managing vendor contracts
  • Involvement in maintenance & mechanical systems.
  • Resident Services

The internship will contain educational aspects and provide an opportunity to gain industry knowledge through business interactions with senior leadership and job assignment such as attending property tours, listening in on asset management meetings, sitting down with company executives, and attending seminars led by Property Management leadership . The role is based at a specific property, as noted in the city/state field of this job posting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein.

  • Support various projects for the Property Management group.
  • Preparation of internal memos and approval documents alongside relationship managers.
  • Assist with collecting and organizing various data to support portfolio-wide analyses.
  • Special projects related to strategic initiatives to be determined based on needs of team at time of internship.

Minimum Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Interest in pursuit of Property Management as a career
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail, follow up and overseeing projects through completion .
  • Working towards bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Real Estate, or relevant business degree
  • P roficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint is a plus
  • Relevant experience, including internships, in real estate is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task, manage time well and meet critical deadlines
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal & communications skills, both verbal and written
