
CORD
The primary purpose of the Country Representative (CR) role is across 4 areas: Programme Development, Programme Management, Operational management & Global Leadership.
Programme Development – The CR will play a key role in developing and leading Cord’s strategy for Laos and identifying new programming opportunities. There will be a particular focus on developing projects & programmes, identifying local partners and securing institutional donor programme funding by developing external donor relationships.
S/He will identify funding opportunities, lead on the development of project proposals and build relationships with key donors in close collaboration with the Programme Development Group and the Regional Representative.
Programme Management – The CR will oversee the implementation of projects in Laos ensuring that design, implementation and reporting of activities are carried out effectively in line with best practices and donor requirements. Responsibility for partner relationship development and management for these projects also rests with the CR.
Operational Management – The CR has oversight of the key operational functions in Laos including Human Resources, facilities, Health & Safety, Security, Safeguarding, finance, operating systems/ policy development/ review and Local legal compliance.
Global Leadership – The Country Representative role will be part of the Extended Leadership Team for the organisation & will play an active role in the overall development of Cord. As such the CR will carry specific global leadership responsibilities as identified within their objectives and will support and drive implementation of global initiatives such as Outcome Harvesting.
