Overview:

IBTCI is seeking a part-time Copy Editor to assist with reviewing and editing project reports and other documents as needed for the Kenya Nawiri Project. This is a part time position that will require approximately 10 days of work per year.

Responsibilities

Scope of Work:

  • Reviews and edits draft reports and presentations for Kenya Nawiri.
  • This position does not authorize/require the consultant to directly communicate with IBTCI clients.
  • This position does not authorize/require the consultant to have decision making authority on final work product.

Serve in the above consultant capacity to support the IBTCI technical practices of Crisis, Conflict & Governance, Agriculture & Food Security & Economic, Education & Growth and Global Health and/or Business Development divisions.

  • This position does not authorize/require the consultant to directly communicate with IBTCI clients.
  • This position does not authorize/require the consultant to have decision making authority on final work product.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in copy-editing or report writing.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Works well in a team setting and highly organized.
  • MS Office Skills required.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English required.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, social sciences, humanities, or related field.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with USAID projects and deliverables is preferred;
  • Experience with food security, health, nutrition, and/or livelihoods sector is preferred;
  • Demonstrable skills in in report writing, editing, formatting, and presentation is essential;
  • A high degree of motivation and self-starter qualities is invaluable to the role;
  • Demonstrable ability to work independently.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Travel: N/A.

Work Authorization: Candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S.A. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
