Background

The Strategy and Operations Coordinator is an integral part of the larger Mission & Mobilization division, seeking to build a movement of millions in support of CRS’ mission and strategic priorities. This position is part of the Strategy & Operations (S&O) team that is primarily responsible for working across the division to maximize our operational potential to advance our impact. The Strategy and Operations team accomplishes this by enabling the department to establish a clear and aspirational strategy and roadmap for the department’s key initiatives, superior operational standards, clear and streamlined business processes, communications and collaboration, while also providing staff access to appropriate trainings and resources to develop the competencies, skill sets and knowledge to excel in their roles.

Job Summary

The Strategy and Operations Coordinator is a non-supervisory, individual contributor role that is pivotal to the successful functioning of the Strategy and Operations team, and in particular, the successful execution of events and supporting systems-based logistics, knowledge management and data support. This position will assist in the logistics and implementation/production for national events (virtual and in-person) and conferences, delegation trips and coordinating international travel, and supporting key divisional operations such as knowledge management, internal communications and staff training and engagement.

Roles and Key Responsibilities

  • Create, coordinate, and maintain up-to-date departmental calendars for national and field events, business travel and other key dates on a routine basis.
  • Serve as a key member of the virtual and in-person events production team, including availability to work nights and weekends.
  • Record event data in Gateway, such as registration
  • Serves as the Insight lead for data entry and preparing requisitions for events and other Insight related matters
  • Support Knowledge Management team in development and roll-out of resources, review, input and tracking of data.
  • Identify improvements to internal communications, knowledge management and collaboration processes and streamline business functionality (CRM, Microsoft 365). This involves researching current industry trends and using that insight to form relevant, actionable solutions.
  • Curate departmental documentation and filing systems within collaborative tools (teams, SharePoint, etc.) and ensure content is up-to-date, including M2’s MyCRS sites.
  • Enhance internal communication practices for stronger collaboration via various technology and communication vehicles.
  • Support event logistics for M2 All-Staff Gatherings, including space and travel.
  • Supports the maintenance of department inboxes and respond to messages

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of five years’ work experience in event management, data management or related fields required.
  • Spanish fluency preferred

Travel– Ability to travel in the US as necessary. Ability to work nights and weekends.

Preferred location is within the Baltimore/DC/Mid-Atlantic region

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (SKAs)

  • Proficiency with databases, Office 365 and other technical tools to support operations
  • Proficiency with virtual meeting platforms, including Zoom and Microsoft Teams

Work Conditions/Environment Conditions: CRS Headquarters office in Baltimore.
