About the Role

Volunteers are at the heart IOSH. Branches are led by volunteer committees to deliver professional development activities/events for members to reach charitable objectives and to align with current strategic aims. The Volunteer Coordinator (Regional Development Manager) is a dynamic role that develops, steers, and guides the committees to function productively and deliver programmes of activities/events for members.

The role holder will need to facilitate at meetings with confidence and positivity to help drive volunteer engagement. In addition, written communication will have to be diplomatic and of a high professional standard.

An integral part of the role will be overseeing the financial management of individual branches by following processes as well as making sound decisions concerning these branches. These may include work to draft volunteer guidance, delivering workshops, short videos or streamlining workflow. This aspect of the role provides exciting opportunities to develop ideas, use critical thinking and take ownership of projects.

About you

As an ideal candidate, you will be experienced and knowledgeable on the privilege and challenges of working with volunteer groups. In this environment you will need to persuade, influence and guide using excellent written and verbal communication skills.

You are also a keen observer able to anticipate issues, evaluate situations and resolve problems when needed. You enjoy working collaboratively within a team yet able to take initiative and ownership of work.

In addition, you will have strong organisational skills, be able to thrive during busy times, give attention to detail and deliver work to a high standard.

About Us

Locations: At IOSH, we embrace hybrid working because we believe it’s the key to achieving work-life balance, strategic success and fostering our collaborative culture. You’ll be required to work from our head office in Wigston, Leicester a minimum of 2 days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday). The remainder of your working hours will be undertaken from home. There would also be some virtual out of hours work and occasional travel as part of the job role. Consideration to be fully home-based will only be given to candidates currently living in the region but further than 60 miles from head office.

Starting salary: £28,500– £35,500 per annum

Hours per week: 35
