Controller Financial Accounting

Job Description
As Controller Financial Accounting you are responsible for the external reporting in accordance with US GAAP. You have an active role in the monthly financial closing & forecasting process, the quarterly and annual external reporting disclosures from PACCAR, and the Dutch GAAP statutory financial statements. You are responsible for the DAF accounting department, consisting of general ledger, sales administration and accounts payable. In your role you manage a team of approximately 40 people of which 3 direct reports.
In this position you will be responsible for:

• The timeliness and accuracy of financial information in line with the Company’s policies and applicable accounting rules including US GAAP. You are the expert for financial accounting questions;
• The preparation of the DAF Statutory Financial statements in accordance with Dutch GAAP.
• The operating effectiveness of internal controls in your area of responsibility; you have an active role in the set up and monitoring of the Control Framework in cooperation with the Internal Control Department;
• Contact with the external auditors to coordinate their procedures including audit techniques and test approaches;
• Participation in projects such as implementation of Corporate Sustainability Reporting and further roll-out of robotic process automation.
• Optimization and implementation of process improvements in the administrative processes;
• Responsible for continuous improvement of the team, the output, working processes etc.

In this position you report to the Controller Financial Accounting & Reporting.
Your profile

• Master in Economics, Business Administration or Finance and a Post-Master Accountancy degree (RA).
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in financial accounting and reporting and active knowledge of US GAAP and Dutch GAAP and preferably PCAOB requirements.
• Preferably knowledge of and experience with Sarbanes Oxley.
• Strong analytical skills combined with a high degree of accuracy and a hands-on mentality.
• You are able to communicate well with all levels within the organization and you are a team player with a sensitivity antenna.
• Your knowledge of English, both verbally and in writing, is excellent.

Department
The Finance & Control Department of DAF Trucks is located in Eindhoven, with local finance teams in the Westerlo plant (Belgium) and in its European sales subsidiary offices. Over 200 financial professionals are responsible for timely and accurate reporting of DAF’s financial results, using efficient accounting processes, which are based on robust systems and strong internal controls.
