The Company

Pinnacle Transport Group is seeking a Controller to join the Finance Department in their Michiana based corporate office. Operations are spread throughout the continental US, with multiple operating units, experiencing steady growth over the past 12 years both organically and through acquisitions.

Controller

The Controller will report to and work closely with the Director of Finance and have high visibility to the leadership team of the organization. We are seeking qualified candidates who have experience either currently in a Controller or Accounting Manager role.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all month-end/year-end close documents along with routine reconciliation of accounts and generate accurate and timely financial statements for presentation to the leadership team
  • Assist with timely filing of all tax obligations & required reporting
  • Manage organizational cash flow ensuring adequate funds are available to meet business needs on an ongoing basis
  • Create lease & loan documents for contractor receivables including reconciliations for proper recording of transactions
  • Assist with set up & closure of business locations consisting of state registrations, lease agreements, insurance requirements, general ledger, payroll & other related items
  • Work with Director of Finance & Finance Team to develop and implement processes to improve workflow within the department and the organization
  • Provide reporting to other departments as needed
  • Maintain payroll system and process semi-monthly payroll
  • Other functions as assigned or as business requires

Qualifications

This is an extraordinary opportunity for a leader with five years of accounting and finance experience, ideally beginning in accounting and audit, followed by experience gathering, evaluating, presenting, and reporting financial information to executive teams and external stakeholders. S/he will ideally have experience in a complex fast growth company and have experience using Great Plains accounting software.
