The role: Contract Manager

You will be responsible for ensuring Origin complies with relevant statutory and regulatory obligations in relation to Fire Equipment, Warden Call and Asbestos. The contracts under your control will be managed, in accordance with budgetary and operational performance requirements, and you will play a key role in managing risk across our portfolio.

As Contract Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the most effective and efficient management of our Fire Safety Equipment and delivery of Fire Actions following fire risk assessments. You will be a key member of the Compliance Team ensuring we keep our Residents safe by effectively working closely with our contractors whilst also ensuring you keep our customers updated. With experience in British Standards and a good technical knowledge of the operation of life safety equipment you will be the expert in ensuring we achieve and maintain compliance putting life safety at the forefront of everything you do.

What You’ll Do

You will

  • Have oversight of operational compliance and delivery
  • Ensure all works are carried out in line with relevant British Standards
  • Create and maintain compliance-based documentation and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Inputting and analysing of Fire Equip certificates to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure Contractors embed any regulation changes.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure engineers are installing to regulations and design.
  • Be responsible for issuing and monitoring of fire safety actions, you’ll implement quality assurance processes and use performance data to evaluate and monitor improvement right across the Origin Housing stock
  • provide high quality compliance management and deliver regular reports to Senior Management on performance, using a suite of key performance indicators to support the work of the team.
  • Advise / assist with any H&S updates.

What You’ll Need

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Knowledge of BS5839 Part 1 and knowledge of BS5839 Part 6, BS5266, Approved Document B and BS9991
  • Good working knowledge of Fire Safety Order, Fire safety Act, Fire Safety Regulations and Building Safety Act
  • Hold accreditations with IFE or IFSM or similar.
  • Good understanding of active and passive fire safety systems
  • Knowledge and experience of reviewing scope of works
  • Be up to date with fire safety legislation and evidence this through continued professional development.
  • Good organisational and planning skills
  • Self-motivated, and focused
  • Solution and compliance driven.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of BAFE and ISO accreditation process
