Contract Analyst

We are currently seeking an organized and detail oriented Contract Analyst to join our Finance team in Bloomfield CT. Community Solutions, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that works with multiple funding sources including state and government contracts. In this role you will work with specific contracts, monitoring requirements, preparing budgets and providing reporting along with processing all accounts receivable associated with your specific contracts. This position would be based out of our Central Office in Bloomfield CT and once trained and upon supervisor approval you would have the opportunity to work a flexible schedule with time in the office and working from home.

Community Solutions Inc. (CSI) is a nonprofit organization that promotes the responsible citizenship, accountability, and well-being of individuals and families involved, or at risk of involvement, in the child welfare, juvenile justice, or criminal justice system. Since CSI’s founding in 1962, it has been a pioneer in the community-based service. CSI built the first ever halfway house in New England which has now been replicated and grown to almost 50 programs in multiple states. For over 50 years, CSI has been building upon its successful foundations and has been expanding its services to serve thousands of adults, youth, and families each year.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS includes but are not limited to:

Contracts:

  • Maintain CSI tracking of contract amendments, budgets and quarterly reporting.
  • Prepare internal and external budget revisions as directed
  • Assist programs with any questions in regards to contracts assigned
  • Support the Finance department in billing, reporting, and financial analysis, forecasting and monthly close.
  • Reconcile monthly/quarterly reports from Human Resources, Payroll and Accounting
  • Complete quarterly financial reports to various funding sources.
  • Work on the RFP budgets with the Development team as needed.
  • Maintain integrity of existing contracts.

Accounts Receivable:

  • Responsible for assigned accounts receivable administrative functions.
  • Maintain accounts receivable subsidiary ledgers
  • Ensure accounts receivable transaction activity is documented and detailed into well maintained account records
  • Prepare, process and test invoicing for government and non-government contracts.
  • Monitor timely payment of receivables.
  • Verify funding source billing requirements and maintain funding source eligibility parameters.
  • Post payments, credit memos and adjustments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related business discipline with three (3) years’ experience in the Contracts or Accounting Field.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently on complex issues, research and analysis with problem solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • General understanding of various business models and able to apply financial planning and analysis skills.
  • Working knowledge of Dynamics GP, Ariett, Evolv, Planning Budget systems required
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
  • Nonprofit experience preferred.
  • COVID19 vaccination or negative test before start date.
