We are a small international team with a flat organization. The language of the team is English.
Your Role
At TourScanner we are looking for a content manager (either full-time or part-time) who can manage the localization of our content from English to German. The content is in the form of blog articles or text on landing pages, plus other types of texts used for marketing purposes and website UI. The topics are tours, travel activities, attractions, museums, shows, things to do and places to visit all over the world.
We have a content creation team working in the English language. Now we want to create a content localization team for several languages and you will be the first member of the localization team working with the German language.
You will be responsible to:
- Manage and supervise the process of localization (machine-aided translation) from English to German
- Grow your team of translators and manage the relationship with them
- Assign articles and texts to translators and make sure that the texts are error-free and comply with SEO guidelines
- Edit, integrate and improve the translations when needed
- Analyze which article to prioritize based on performance
- Review the current localization of our website
Your profile
Mandatory requirements:
- Native-level German skills with excellent writing skills
- Good command of English (speaking and writing)
- Experience in content writing or editing
- Proactivity, motivation, and ability to work independently without continuous guidance
Nice to have (a plus):
- A degree in German or humanities studies
- Experience in the translation industry
- Experience with travel content writing or editing
- Experience with a CMS tool (WordPress or similar)
- Knowledge of SEO guidelines and keywords research
