HelpAge

HelpAge International is a UK-registered INGO working to advance the wellbeing, dignity, and voice of older person. The organization works across the globe and delivers its work through four global portfolios on Inclusive Humanitarian Action, Income Security, Healthy Ageing, and A Society for All Ages. In April 2021, it implemented a new organizational design, which includes an ambition to transform its value proposition. As an initial set of strategic shifts, the organization has committed to embrace locally-led development, transition its country programmes and offices, and deliver value through global portfolios and a global platform. The design also embraces agile working as the new way of working.

As a globally disbursed organization, effective virtual collaboration is essential to be impactful and effective. While as an international organization working across the global, distance management of people and projects was not new, the pandemic has challenged us to develop further our virtual collaborations and meeting culture. While the organization evolved a lot and learned a huge amount, we recognize we can improve further by introducing good practices and increasing our skills for virtual collaboration. There is scope to make our meetings more productive, and thus also reduce the unsustainable pressure of day’s full of back-to-back virtual meetings.

Given the above, HelpAge seeks the support for the following for a webinar/learning event on virtual meeting and collaboration.

· Purpose: to share good practices and tools for effective virtual collaboration and meetings

· Two 1.5-hour virtual meetings. Interspersed by a few days/week.

· Target: all HelpAge staff (global + country team)

· Expected participants: 30-40

· Recommend any digital tools (part of, compatible with MS License)

· Indicative dates: June-July 2022

· Task:

§ Preparator work, including discussion regarding context

§ Outline of content (1 page)

§ Session delivery

§ Debrief
