Position Title: Consultant – Enterprise Technology and Cloud

Project Context and Scope

The Enterprise Architect must understand business requirements, work with end-users, and provide guidance and recommendations in developing and deploying cloud-native solutions or enterprise services. This position requires knowledge and experience with multiple cloud environments and expertise in designing, integrating, and managing complex IT solutions, products and platforms.

Reporting

Under the supervision of the Chief, ICT Enterprise Architecture and Technology, the consultant is responsible for supporting the enterprise architecture function in conducting architecture reviews, technology deep dives, enterprise roadmaps and blueprints.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

Tasks to be performed under this contract

The primary responsibility of this position is to understand and analyze business requirements, underlying solution architecture and design across all architecture layers. Provide observations and recommendations to teams to align their solution architecture based on enterprise strategies, roadmaps, requirements, principles, and standards. The consultant should be able to work with different stakeholders to guide the creation of enterprise-grade architecture and design leveraging approved standard technologies and services.

The specific roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Conduct and support Architecture Reviews and analyze different designs based on standard EA frameworks, Enterprise standards and principles and provide guidance to various teams

• Partner with business unit technology product leaders and solutions architects to develop technology roadmaps across the organization.

• Publish and communicate standards and technology evaluations.

• Create and maintain enterprise architecture artifacts/documentation and update the EA Repository respective to Business, Application, Data and Technology Architecture.

• Analyze technology based on various domains/capabilities and conduct technology/application rationalization.

• Guide various teams on various DevSecOps tooling and process.

• Collaborate with various units and technology groups to determine opportunities to simplify technology landscapes.

• Monitor evolving technology trends in the industry and conduct fit-gap analysis.

• Raise awareness of reusables services, cloud and on-prem integration through presentations, blog posts and training sessions.

• Identify emerging technologies that enable the organization to efficiently execute its technology strategy and obsolete technologies and work with technology teams to replace or mitigate them.

• Ensure that all EA artifacts and activities align with the business goals and objectives.

Performance indicators for evaluation of results

• The number of projects architecture documents reviewed under SLA.

• The number of detailed roadmaps published.

• Publish and communicate standards and technology evaluations.

• DevOps and DevSecOps guidance on tooling and process are available and adopted by the organization.

• Identify needs and requirements and perform the selection of an enterprise integration tool forIOM.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Education, experience and/or skills required

• Master’s degree with 5 years experience in relevant disciplines such as Computer Science or Bachelor’s degree with 7 years relevant experience.

• 5+ years of experience working with AWS/Azure(preferred) as an Architect. Cloud certification is required.

Experience

• Extensive knowledge of standardized middleware options, communications protocols, data gateways and platform infrastructures.

• Modeling and graphical representations and abstractions. Experience developing and building models based on standard enterprise frameworks (e.g., TOGAF or ArchiMate).

• Experience in using data to drive architecture concepts into the organization.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration and technical skills across multiple architectural domain areas.

• Experience in working with EA Repository Tools preferred.

• Experience in Modern Integration – cloud and in-premise and/or hybrid, APIs, ESB/SOA.

• Experience in Data Architecture, governance, strategy, & implementation.

Languages

IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.

For this consultancy, fluency in English is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of French and Spanish is an advantage.

Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
