Search for Common Ground (Search)- Jordan intends to recruit a one expert trainer for a project title Building Bridges between Local Authorities with Youth and Communities “Jusoor“.
Jusoor project aims to equip local authorities and youth with the skills and competencies to effectively, constructively, and inclusively engage target communities in local governance; In addition to enable local authorities and youth to leverage participatory approaches and strategic communication to address local communities’ governance demands.
The Expert trainer will develop and institutionalize a training curriculum to support local authorities in being more effective, inclusive, and accountable partners in local governance processes, also will support the project team in designing an innovative training curriculum in consultation with the Institutional Development Unit under the Prime Minister (IDU) to equip local authorities with the knowledge and skills to support sustainable long-term youth engagement. Integrating Search’s flagship CGA, CDA, and Community Scorecard Methodology, the curriculum could include topics such as conflict and gender sensitivity, youth engagement, participatory community needs identification, strategic communication, resource mapping, developing inclusive action plans, and monitoring and reporting , in addition to One 5-day ToT for Eight expert trainers; One 3-day follow-up ToT for five expert trainers.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Prepare a 5-day training plan, and training curriculum for five expert trainers based on designing an innovative training approach in consultation with the Institutional Development Unit of the Prime Ministry and Working alongside Search’s Children and Youth Division, the mentioned topics (Integrate Search’s organization common ground approach CGA, community dialogue approach CDA, and Community Scorecard Methodology) highlight media for social change and the material both Search and the contractor agreed on such as conflict and gender sensitivity, youth engagement, participatory community needs identification, strategic communication, resource mapping, developing inclusive action plans, and monitoring and reporting.
- Submit the developed training material, with the agenda, and suggestion to the evaluation tools “ pre-post evaluations”.
- Deliver 5-day ToT for five expert trainers, the expert also will conduct 3 days follow up training with the trainers who will provide the material for local authorities , to discuss feedback ,their lessons learned after delivering the training to local authorities.
- Reviewing the training material with each trainer and local authorities and amending it based on their observations. Design a 6-day training Curriculum for local youth leaders where the training will include the following topics: local governance processes (e.g., Council roles and responsibilities, decision-making processes, municipal budgeting, etc.), constructive engagement with local authorities, and community engagement leveraging our Youth 360 Approach.
- Design a template of youth inclusion plan concerned with integrating and involving youth in participation in decision-making with local authorities, where youth leaders and local authorities within the provinces will use this Inclusion plan to discuss the challenges and problems of youth and come up with initiatives at the provincial level.
- Design a template to formulate recommendations that will be sustained at all stages of the project implementation to keep the authorities informed of the project recommendations.
- In case of movement restrictions due to the ongoing pandemic, the trainer will be expected to deliver the training online using interactive tools.
- Ensure a safe working environment for all people involved in the project according to the GoJ instructions and laws for COVID-19 under the defense law and Search safety regulations.
- Implement and maintain the highest standards of behavior when working with the targeted communities and groups according to Search’s Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policy.
- Submitting a report on the training after conducting it to the decision makers.
Experience
- At least 10 years of professional experience with international organization in the fields of Governance, Active Citizenship, Decentralization, Social Entrepreneurship and Networking, and Conflict Transformation by engaging, whenever appropriate, to fortify the curriculum’s institutionalization, as well as that of local capacities
- Experience delivering remote trainings utilizing different online platforms.
- Demonstrated reporting skills and the ability to capture results.
- Ability to analyze and present information in a clear manner.
- Good understanding of the local governance context is a plus.
