About the role

FUNCTION OF DEPARTMENT

Supporting clients in fragile and conflict affected states to deliver stability, peace, security, justice, humanitarian relief in Ethiopia, Myanmar, INSAF.

Contribute to the success of CA by delivering profitable business results and building CA’s reputation as ‘go to’ provider for crisis response and recovery services.

MAIN JOB PURPOSE

To support the Crisis Response and Recovery Unit (CRRU) through assistance in project management and business development activities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB

Business Development

  • Support the Unit in the identification, tracking and management of business opportunities
  • Assist in promotion of services through preparation of capability statements and marketing material
  • Assist with preparation of project proposals: management of bidding process; associate and consultant selection; technical writing; commercial proposal and authorisation and competitor analysis
  • Support in the preparation of country assessments and undertake background research and analysis
  • Assist with the coordination of business development trips and country visits

Manage

  • Assist the team with project management requirements under the direction of the Project Director
  • Liaise with the Crown Agents Comms teams in the internal and external promotion of our work
  • Contribute to project administration, documentation, and records management

Deliver

  • Assist in provision of advice to internal & external clients on technical matters within area of discipline

Build

  • Build knowledge and experience through contributing to think-pieces, shadowing more senior members of staff and attending external events.

General

  • Be aware of and adhere to company quality standards and procedures in accordance with Crown Agents’ commitment to working to the highest quality standards and striving for continual improvement
  • Any other duties as directed by the Line Manager and/or Director of the Crisis, Response and Recovery Unit

Safeguarding

  • Be aware of and compliant with all the standards following Safeguarding procedures and policies. Promote Crown Agents’ speak up culture in order to protect the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults

About you

Requirement

Qualification

  • A post-graduate degree from a top-tier university, desirable, minimum of undergraduate degree required.

Experience

  • Some relevant government or private sector experience in relevant subject area;
  • Some experience of working in a developing country, desirable.
