A. Background

Population Services International (PSI) is the world’s leading non-profit social marketing organization. Experienced Sales Merchandisers are needed to operate in key markets/territories for the redistribution of SRH commodities.

Specific objectives of assignment

The specific objectives of the evaluation are:

  • Redistribute PSIN commodities to Sales Delivery Points in assigned territory.
  • Remit Sales proceeds to designated PSI Nigeria and/or PSI Wholesaler Accounts

Scope of assignment

Sales Merchandisers are needed in Lagos, Ibadan, Ondo, Aba, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Jos, Kano, Gombe.

Roles of the Consultant

  • Identify and engage PPMVs, Pharmacies and other Sales Delivery Points in their respective territories.
  • Generate and maintain a database for customers in their respective territories.
  • Merchandise products in and around the key markets and routes in their territories.
  • Ensure shelf presence of PSI commodities in retail stores in their territories.
  • Track inventory levels and report.

Deliverables and Timelines

The assignment will be spread over a 40-days period as follows:

Every 20 workdays, each Sales Merchandiser is expected to remit sales proceeds of an agreed monthly target from the sales of PSI Nigeria commodities. Performance is evaluated for each calendar month.

Qualification and experience

  • Education: Minimum of OND
  • Previous experience selling and merchandising Reproductive Health commodities in assigned territory.
  • Previous experience selling to PPMVs, Pharmacies, Hospitals, Clinics and other health facilities and professionals in the assigned territory.
  • Proven ability to work with many people across diverse background
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Language skills: Fluent English and local language(s) of assigned territory.

Reporting and supervision:

The consultant will report to the Social Business Manager or his designate.

Time Frame

The estimated effort to undertake the assignment is 40 days spread over 2 months from the date of contract signing. Renewal of the contract is based on performance.

  • Evidence of undertaking similar consultancy work during the last 5 years, attach at least three (3) for reference.
  • Email and telephone contacts of at least three relevant references.
  • Should be in English language.

Financial Proposal

Provide a competitive daily rate (The rate should be quoted in Nigerian Naira) to perform the assignment, including all the chargeable taxes.
