International Potato Center
The International Potato Center (CIP) seeks two proactive, responsible, and expert consultants as Seed production facilitators to advice and support the implementation of the project: “Potato seed production with farmers under the project – Rapid Seed Potato Multiplication to Strengthen Potato Value Chain in Karnataka and Maharashtra”.
These consultants will be based in Hassan, Karnataka and both will coordinate directly with the Project Investigator who leads this project.
Expected duration and conditions:
- This is a fixed-term consultancy contract during 2022, with the possibility of renewal.
- The payment is a fixed and consolidated fee.
Deliverables:
Monthly reports based on the following activities:
- Capacity building of various stakeholders involved in the project.
- Supporting ARC Nurseries.
- Hardening of Tissue culture plantlets.
- Promoting Apical Rooted Cutting (ARC) for Potato seed production.
- Assuring quality with seed production farmers.
- Coordinating all the activities related to seed production.
Qualifications/special skills
- Post-graduation in Agriculture/Horticulture.
- At least 3 years of professional experience working in Agriculture related projects.
- Seed Production, Nursery Management, Tissue Culture.
