CONSULTANCY ON ENGLISH PROFICIENCY IMPROVEMENT BY SCHOOL TEACHERS IN ABKHAZIA

World Vision Abkhazia Program is looking for consultancy Services:

The International NGO “World Vision”, Program in Abkhazia would like to reach out to you to ask if your company would be interested to provide online Consultancy Services at English teachers:

3. Purpose of the service
The purpose of the service is to facilitate a seven-month intensive online course for the target
group of 24 English school teachers, as well as to host the Study tour activities at the English
school.
4. Activities and Tasks
I. Develop a seven-month training curriculum for in total 30 online sessions (1,5 hours each)
that will help the target group of teachers to improve listening and speaking skills. The
curriculum should be adjusted to the language proficiency level of the engaged school
teachers, but with a focus on developing English conversational vocabulary, as well as
English speaking and listening skills.
II. To deliver the developed training curriculum to the target group of 24 school teachers
that should be split into 2 smaller groups, each having online sessions as per an agreed
schedule, i.e. once a week (1,5-hour each session). An English native speaking trainer
should use practical strategies to encourage active involvement from all teachers in a
group regardless of language proficiency, apply interactive techniques for improving
listening and speaking skills by teachers, and forge a positive inclusive classroom
environment.
III. The trainer will work in a close coordination with a local facilitator so that to ensure the
provided learning materials are reinforced via offline sessions run by the local facilitator
in a “tea-time” format. Thus, the trainer will work with the local facilitator to help prepare
the agenda and content for the offline tea-time sessions based on the topics and materials
covered over the online sessions.
IV. The consultant should develop a five-day Study Tour program and make any necessary
arrangements to host a group of 10 best performing teachers at the premises of the
International English School. The Program should include an intensive practical course of
English facilitated by English native speaking trainers. The Study Tour is planned for July
2023.
V. In addition, the Consultant will provide monthly group performance reports that will
review results and the progress by the participants as well as recommendation for the
project team.
