Background

The CALP Network is a dynamic global network of over 90 organisations engaged in the critical areas of policy, practice and research in humanitarian cash and voucher assistance (CVA) and financial assistance more broadly. Collectively, operational CALP members deliver the vast majority of humanitarian CVA worldwide.

What makes CALP unique is its diversity. Members currently include local and international non-governmental organisations, United Nations agencies, the Red Cross/Crescent Movement, donors, specialist social innovation, technology and financial services companies, researchers and academics, and individual practitioners.

Together, and alongside our strategic partners, we seek to better meet the needs and improve the outcomes for women and men affected by crisis. We do this by ensuring that CVA is a central, scalable component of quality, timely and appropriate humanitarian assistance, and that it takes into account the need to sustain positive outcomes for people over the longer term.

Project description

We are seeking editors to help with post-production of two new podcast episodes of CALP’s podcast the ‘CashCast’, one in English and the other in Spanish. The podcasts are on the topic of CVA and migration in the Latin American and Caribbean region and will form part of a broader communications plan to promote a CALP publication on this topic.

CashCast episodes typically last 30-70 mins and are in the format of a roundtable discussion involving subject matter experts, facilitated by a CALP staff member acting as host.

Methodology

CALP’s team will handle the planning and recording of the episodes, including selecting guests and coordinating logistics and timings with them, creating the script, and making the recording itself via Riverside FM.

The consultants will attend the recording using Riverside’s ‘producer mode’ to ensure the best quality possible sound capture. CALP comms staff will attend in ‘co-producer mode’. The consultants will also handle the postproduction phase using their own software for audio editing, sound effects and creation of social media assets. The CashCast’s theme music will be provided to the editors.

As well as recording the podcast we would like the editors to create 3 assets for CALP to use on social media in both English and Spanish.

We would expect to go through 2 revision stages for each podcast:

• 1 st draft – Initial edited episodes provided. CALP to provide open-ended feedback.

• 2 nd draft – Edited podcasts provided which incorporate CALP’s 1st draft feedback. CALP to provide final less substantive feedback, alongside requests to incorporate previous feedback not properly integrated.

• Final draft – no further changes to be requested from CALP’s side unless some second-round feedback has been missed.

Expectations for the final output(s)

1. Audience
