Consultancy Assignment to Engage Media and Journalists during Asia Inclusive and Responsible Business Forum
BACKGROUND
The global movement of Oxfam started with a vision; a just world without poverty, where every individual has access to equal opportunities and resources. To work for this vision, Oxfam encouraged people in adapting change by being part of the process that allows them to be the driver of every change within their society. To achieve its goal, Oxfam has been collaborating with different partner organizations, media, government institutions, private sectors, community groups, influencers, and other changemakers to expand the productivity of its work on gender, climate and economic issues.
The economic aspect of Oxfam’s work focuses on building sustainable and responsible economic structures that are human-centric. For this purpose, Oxfam has been actively engaged with private sector to promote business practices that contribute to the quality of life of the communities we work in. Considering that these collaborations affect the communities, Oxfam have been empowering and channelling the public voices on these issues with its intervention through multiple projects. The aim of these interventions is to aware communities, influence government and private sector to change policies and practices for just and resilient societies.
SCOPE OF WORK
Oxfam is organizing a two-days flagship event in Bangkok, Thailand to hold dialogues on the inclusive and responsible business practices and showcase the successful business models that are contributing to the global good. The event will include, plenary discussions, dialogues, group activities and presentations to learn and share experiences for mutual capacity building. Therefore, Oxfam is seeking support of the consultant to communicate and coordinate with local and regional media platforms for the visibility and outreach of the event.
The consultant will provide services on a consultancy contract whereby the agreed quote will be paid to the selected institution. The payments will be released as the deliverables are finalized and shared with the team.
All content in its final form will be the intellectual property of Oxfam and may not be used for other commercial purposes without permission. The consultant will work in close collaboration with Oxfam’s teams to ensure delivery of the required deliverables on pre-defined standards, using Oxfam’s branding and media guidelines
DELIVERABLES
Oxfam set forth below deliverables for this project
- At least 3M people have been reached throughout the Asia region
- Connect with at least 3 regional and 7 local media channels for the coverage of forum
- Publish the op-ed and press release in at least 6 channels in both English and Thai
- Translate the op-ed and press release in Thai language for dissemination
- Identification of all prospective media channels for the event with the team
- Provide on-ground support to journalists and media channels at the event;
disseminate press release to all media channels and journalists in attendance and
email the rest of the identified regional and local media channels
- A short report, containing all the data on publishing, reporting and outreach
PAYMENT SCHEDULE
The payment to the selected consultant/firm would be done as per the below timeline
- 50 % upon signing of the contract
- 50% upon submission of final report
All the logistics, i.e. boarding and lodging will be borne by the consultant/firm
EXPERTISE of the CONSULTANT/FIRM
The applicants are required to fulfil the following criteria:
- Relevant experience in media and journalist engagement work – relevant to business and economy
- Strong expertise in translating content in local language (Thai)
- Proven experience in working with regional new/media channels
- Ability to follow the timeline and rigorous communication with the project team
- Proven experience of successful work with the international organizations
The consultant must be willing to receive continuous feedback and incorporate it in the product
PROCEDURE FOR SUBMISSION

- Technical and Financial proposal (including the Consultant’s taxpayer status)
- Sample of previous work relevant to the proposed task

- Detailed financial offer/costs with requested terms of payment. It is expected that the financial offer includes a primary budget breakdown of costs (for example fees, taxes, etc.)
